Shredded Brussels Sprouts with Ginger & Sesame Seeds

Shredded Brussel Sprouts with Ginger and Sesame

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Servings: 6 servings


INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound fresh Brussels sprouts about 5-1/2 cups

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 small onion finely chopped

  • 1 tablespoon fresh gingerroot minced

  • 1 clove garlic minced

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 2 tablespoons water

  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds toasted

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Trim Brussels bottom of sprouts.

  2. Cut sprouts lengthwise in half, and crosswise into thin slices.

  3. Place a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  4. Add Brussels sprouts.

  5. Cook and stir until brussels sprouts just begin to brown; about 2-3 minutes.

  6. Add the oil and toss to coat.

  7. Stir in the onion, ginger, garlic and salt.

  8. Add water and reduce heat to medium.

  9. Cook with cover on, until vegetables are tender; about 1-2 minutes.

  10. Add pepper and stir.

  11. Sprinkle 1 Tbsp. toasted sesame seeds over cooked sprouts before serving.
